Hello Families and Friends,
Thank you to all the families who helped make our feast such a success! The students loved learning about Colonial Life and enjoying a special feast with their classmates and families was a wonderful way to end our Social Studies unit. As we look forward to December, there is so much exciting learning happening in our classroom! In Reader's Workshop, we're exploring non-fiction/informational texts. In our Word Work, we're learning about glued sounds like ing, ang, ung, ank, ink and unk. In Writer's Workshop, we're writing non-fiction chapter books and researching our topics so we can make informative books for our readers. In Math, we're focusing on place value and exploring numbers to 100. In Science, we'll be exploring different animal structures and using the scientific inquiry process to understand how various structures help foster growth and survival. In Social Studies, we're excited to learn about different holiday traditions celebrated around the world. Finally, we look forward to our special centerpiece craft on the 19th (with families) and our Polar Express activity on the 21st. Thank you so much for your support at home and please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
Warmly,
Mrs. Roby
