In reader's workshop we are now learning all about non-fiction and the amazing information we can learn about the world around us!
Make sure to ask your child what new information they learned from their non-fiction reading each day.
In math we are finishing up Unit 2 (adding and subtracting within 10) and will be starting unit 3 (counting and place value). Unit two assessment scores will be sent home with the children.
In Writer's Workshop, the children have been working hard creating how to books. We have learned all about how to make lemonade, how to ride a bike, how to make pickles, how to make water balloons and so many other fun topics. Your children are experts on many fun things. Soon we will be writing non-fiction chapter books.
Students are currently learning about Colonial times. As a culmination to our unit we will be having Colonial Day here at school on November 24th. You will receive more information about this fun experience and how you can volunteer.
